Key Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Grade 12 along with a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Economics, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial markets, particularly in fixed income markets.
- Knowledge of economics research, macroeconomics, econometrics, and quantitative methodologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Sovereign Risk and Credit Rating Review Process:
- Facilitate and coordinate the credit review process and arrange credit rating review sessions.
- Compile post-visit briefings for circulation and monitor markets and developments from rating agencies.
- Respond promptly to requests from credit rating agencies.
Monitoring Sovereign Risk:
- Conduct forward-looking sovereign risk analysis and rating reports.
- Research potential improvements to enhance South Africa’s credit ratings.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Organize awareness sessions to educate stakeholders on the role and importance of credit ratings.
- Assist with presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including credit rating agencies, banks, investors, and legal practitioners.
Finance Borrowing Requirement in Capital Markets:
- Assist with domestic and foreign capital market borrowing requirements.
- Contribute to the annual debt report compilation and publication.
