Are you an experienced forensic auditor with a keen eye for detail and a passion for tackling fraud and misconduct? The Armaments Corporation of South Africa (Armscor) is seeking a Forensic Auditor to join their team at the Head Office in Pretoria. Position Overview: Forensic Auditor

As a Forensic Auditor, you will play a key role in conducting investigations into suspected violations of criminal law and corporate policies, including fraud, theft, embezzlement, conflict of interest, and more. You will also help develop and optimize fraud prevention and detection processes, contributing to Armscor’s zero-tolerance control environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct internal investigations into suspected fraud, theft, and other corporate policy violations.
  • Plan and prioritize investigations according to allocated hours and scope.
  • Draft Terms of Reference for investigations based on management requests or whistleblower reports.
  • Gather and analyze data to support investigations, and conduct interviews.
  • Prepare detailed work papers documenting investigations and findings, providing clear recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Interface with senior management and other organizational levels throughout the investigative process.
  • Prepare concise progress and monthly reports to keep leadership, HR, and legal teams updated.
  • Provide consulting services and advice to internal stakeholders.
  • In some cases, testify at hearings and provide formal written reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Grade 12
  • BCom / B. Tech / Diploma in Accounting, Auditing, or Forensic Science
  • At least 6 years of audit experience, including 3 years in forensic audit

Added Advantage:

  • IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) Certification
  • ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners) Certification
  • TEI (The Institute of Internal Auditors) Certification

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of IIA / ACFE Standards
  • Proficiency in data mining and analytical skills
  • Expertise in system flowcharting and report writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and objectively with high ethical standards
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge of PFMA (Public Finance Management Act) and National Treasury Regulations
