Minimum Requirements:
- Post-graduate qualification or Honours degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or Economics.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in appraising, negotiating, and closing project finance, corporate finance, or structured finance transactions within a financial institution.
- Proven investment, appraisal, analysis, and implementation skills.
- Experience in working on investment projects through an established approval process.
- Track record of leading project teams with high-level stakeholders and qualified professionals.
- Strong credit, financial, analytical, and modelling skills.
- Experience in financial analysis and/or financial modelling.
- Exposure to business across Africa.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of the financial landscape and a passion for development finance. The Senior Investment Officer will be involved in managing large-scale investment projects, ensuring they meet both financial and development goals, while working with top-tier professionals and stakeholders across the continent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the investment process for various sectors including SOEs, sovereigns, and corporates.

2. Principal Investment Officer

- Experience in leading and developing new business strategies to create a pipeline of impactful projects.
- Proven track record in securing infrastructure investment deals across South Africa and Africa.
- Strong experience in deal flow and bankability within African markets.
The Principal Investment Officer will be instrumental in initiating and driving new investment opportunities, as well as ensuring the success of complex infrastructure projects. This senior role demands a strategic vision, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of both local and pan-African financial landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the origination and execution of investment transactions.
- Develop business strategies and manage key relationships to secure high-value projects.
- Ensure projects meet the financial and developmental goals of DBSA and other stakeholders.
