Key Responsibilities:
As an Administrative Support and Co-ordination Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting the day-to-day operations within the office of the executive authority. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administrative & Coordination Management: Ensuring the smooth flow of documents within the office of the executive authority. You’ll develop and maintain systems, registers, and databases to track documentation, submissions, and internal communications.
- Correspondence and Submissions: You will be responsible for compiling, editing, and managing various documents such as correspondence, cabinet memoranda, and other submissions for executive authority consideration.
- Logistical Support & Budget Management: Overseeing the procurement and maintenance of equipment, managing budgets, and ensuring efficient logistical support for the office of the MEC.
- Supervision & Staff Development: Managing the registry, supervising employees, and providing guidance on work-related matters. Ensuring that all staff are trained to meet the required standards of quality and efficiency.
- Liaison & Collaboration: You will liaise with internal and external role-players and senior managers across various government institutions, providing executive council support and coordinating activities within the office.
What Are We Looking For?
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
- Educational Requirements: A National Diploma on NQF level 6 is essential.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a middle management level, preferably in an assistant director role.
- Competencies: You should have a broad knowledge of the functional areas covered by the executive authority’s portfolio and a strong understanding of the political and parliamentary processes in South Africa. Computer literacy is also essential.
- Management Skills: Proven management competencies and the ability to oversee a team and coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
