Key Responsibilities
As the Human Resources Officer (Skills Development), your role will focus on ensuring that the theatre’s workforce is continuously learning, evolving, and ready to meet the challenges of an ever-changing environment. Here’s a breakdown of your key responsibilities:
Skills Development Activities
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including planned and conducted training.
- Administer training nominations, registrations, and logistics to ensure seamless execution.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external training vendors to organize sessions.
- Ensure all training resources, such as materials and logistics, are prepared in advance.
- Collect feedback from both participants and trainers to improve future sessions.
- Monitor the completion of training reports by trainers post-delivery.
Succession Planning
- Identify relevant talent assessment tools for succession management.
- Work closely with departmental managers to align succession plans with other initiatives.
- Administer and track the progress of the succession planning program and key metrics.
- Liaise with departments to identify potential leadership roles and high-potential candidates.
Employee Wellness and Support
- Promote and encourage employee wellness programs, including HIV/AIDS awareness days.
- Conduct HR surveys to gather insights from staff.
- Maintain accurate records of wellness transactions and audit files for completeness.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Preferred Education: National Diploma in Human Resources or a similar field.
- Experience: At least 3 years as an HR Generalist with a focus on skills development.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of the BCEA (Basic Conditions of Employment Act), LRA (Labour Relations Act), EEA (Employment Equity Act), and SDA (Skills Development Act).
- Familiarity with VIP Payroll is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and strong communication abilities.
