1. Executive Director Operations – Indefinite Position
Basic Salary Range: R941,532 – R1,273,968 per annum (plus benefits)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Operations Business Unit to meet the strategic goals of Iziko Museums.
- Oversee departments such as Customer Services, Facilities Management, HR, Finance, and Information Technology.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and internal policies, managing risks effectively.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and policies for continuous improvement across the organization.
- Supervise staff and lead major projects to ensure operational excellence.
Requirements:
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 5 years in senior management.
- Strong technical knowledge across diverse operational departments.
- In-depth understanding of business planning, national heritage legislation, and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Proven leadership capabilities and exceptional communication skills.
Salary and Benefits:

2. Director of Advancement – Indefinite Appointment
Basic Salary Range: R1,039,726 per annum (plus benefits)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure investments, increase donor income, and support public engagement initiatives.
- Lead the creation and implementation of a branding strategy for Iziko Museums.
- Coordinate public relations campaigns and manage media relations to increase public awareness and museum visitation.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, benefactors, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the production of internal and external communications, publications, and strategic reports.
Requirements:
- A postgraduate qualification in Public Relations, Marketing, or Business Development.
- Proven experience in fundraising, stakeholder engagement, marketing, and communications within a compliance-driven environment.
- Advanced computer literacy and strong leadership abilities to manage a dedicated team.
- Knowledge of the PFMA and relevant cultural legislation.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
