National Museum is Hiring: Graphic Designer /Artist

The National Museum in Bloemfontein is seeking a Graphic Designer/Artist for a fixed-term, 3-month contract to cover for a staff member on maternity leave. About the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to design and layout the Museum’s publications, create visually appealing exhibitions, manage the Museum’s social media presence, and provide creative support for campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graphic Designer/Artist, you will:

  • Design engaging and on-brand graphics for diverse media.
  • Create and design innovative Museum exhibitions.
  • Manage the Museum’s social media platforms.
  • Provide creative support for Museum campaigns and events.
  • Perform general administrative duties.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Educational Background: National Diploma in Graphic Design (NQF Level 6).
  • Driver’s Licence: A valid (unendorsed) Code B licence.
  • Experience: At least 3 years in designing and laying out publications such as magazines, journals, and annual reports.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Expertise in visual design, printing processes, and photography.
  • Proficiency in design software such as CorelDRAW, Adobe Creative Suite (CS), and relevant operating systems.
  • Knowledge of three-dimensional display setups.
