Departmental Mission:

The Group Internal Audit department at PRASA is responsible for managing and executing technical IT audits. These audits focus on critical areas such as IT General Controls (ITGC), cybersecurity, networks, and related technical audit domains. As the IT Audit Manager, you’ll lead efforts to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of IT controls, while also ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

As an IT Audit Manager at PRASA, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, executing, and reporting on audit assignments related to IT infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity.
  • Offering consulting and assurance services to identify risks and controls in key business processes, including servers, databases, networks, and infrastructure systems.
  • Providing input to the development and revision of audit methodologies, processes, procedures, and operational plans.
  • Regularly reporting progress on audit areas and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Overseeing resources to align with organizational policies and procedures, ensuring the effective utilization of human, financial, and physical resources.

Minimum Requirements:

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Internal Auditing or IT (NQF 7) or equivalent.
  • CISA certification (Certified Information Systems Auditor).
  • Professional membership with recognized organizations such as IIA, ISACA, or SAICA.
  • At least 8 years of experience in IT auditing or cybersecurity, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.

Added Advantage:

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and certifications will be advantageous:

  • Honours degree in Internal Audit or IT (NQF 8).
  • Certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
  • Other cybersecurity or privacy-related certifications.

Key Skills & Behavioral Attributes:

Successful candidates will possess a blend of technical expertise, management capabilities, and soft skills:

  • Strong knowledge of frameworks and standards such as COBIT, ISO27001, NIST, ITIL, PFMA, and King Code.
  • Proficiency in audit tools such as TeamMate, ACL/Arbutus Analytics, and Microsoft Office.
  • Solid business acumen, risk management knowledge, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and the capability to write clear, concise reports.
  • A proactive, ethical, and deadline-driven mindset with excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
