What Will You Do?
As a Customer Service Agent at SAA, you will play a crucial role in providing an excellent experience for passengers. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Passenger Handling: Assist with check-in, boarding, arrivals, and baggage. Ensure passengers have the correct documentation for travel and provide general assistance.
- Special Needs Assistance: Help unaccompanied minors, elderly passengers, and those with disabilities, ensuring they receive the support they need.
- Customer Interaction: Keep passengers informed about delays, cancellations, and any other disruptions, handling any issues or queries with professionalism.
- Baggage Management: Ensure proper handling of baggage, including monitoring carry-on baggage, managing excess baggage charges, and reconciling baggage after flights.
- Customer Safety and Care: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure passengers are always treated with care, keeping their well-being as a top priority.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent at NQF level 4.
- A 3-year diploma in Travel and Tourism or a related field is advantageous.
- Experience in a customer service environment, preferably in passenger handling and Amadeus CM, is essential.

- Amadeus Altea Customer Management (CM): Experience with passenger handling systems and tools is a must.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact with customers and colleagues.
- Time Management: Efficient in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring smooth operations.
