South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) Vacancies: Apply by 07 February 2025)

1. Examiner for the Pre-Registration Examination (Community Pharmacy Sector)

The SAPC is seeking an experienced examiner to contribute to the Pre-Registration Examination for Pharmacist Interns. This position requires expertise in community pharmacy and the ability to set exams that reflect the latest industry standards and practices.

Remuneration Package: The examiner will be reimbursed on a prorated basis for setting the examination paper.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree or equivalent.
  • Registration with the SAPC as a practising pharmacist.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in community pharmacy.
  • Must be a registered assessor with the SAPC.
  • Cannot be a registered tutor for a Pharmacist Intern during the period of appointment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set the Pre-registration Examination for Pharmacist Interns.
  • Facilitate workshops for the Pre-registration Examination.
  • Address all matters related to the Pre-registration Examination.

2. Examiner for the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA)

The SAPC is also looking for examiners to set and assess the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) for various pharmacy qualifications, including Pharmacist’s Assistant (Basic), Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post-Basic), and Pharmacy Technician qualifications. There are three positions available across different sectors:

  • Community Pharmacy Sector
  • Institutional Pharmacy Sector
  • Manufacturing Pharmacy Sector

Remuneration Package: Reimbursement will be made on a prorated basis for setting the exam papers.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree or equivalent.
  • Registration with the SAPC as a practising pharmacist.
  • At least 5 years of experience in community, institutional, manufacturing pharmacy, and/or academia.
  • Must be a registered assessor with the SAPC.
  • Cannot be involved in the training of Pharmacist’s Assistant (Basic), Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post-Basic), or Pharmacy Technician learners.

Responsibilities:

  • Set the EISA for Pharmacist’s Assistant (Basic) at NQF 4, Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post-Basic) at NQF 5, and Pharmacy Technician qualification at NQF 6.
  • Facilitate workshops for EISA learners.
  • Address all matters related to the EISA process.
