Unisa Vacancies: Audit and Investigation Assistant Positions 2025

The University of South Africa (Unisa) is inviting applications from qualified and unemployed students or graduates for fixed-term contract positions within the Department of Internal Audit. These positions provide an excellent opportunity for experiential learning in the fields of accounting, auditing, IT, forensic auditing, and investigations.

Available Positions

1. Audit Assistants (P11) – 3 Positions

2. Investigation Assistants (P11) – 2 Positions

Contract Duration: One (1) Year Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Muckleneuk Campus

Eligibility and Minimum Requirements

Audit Assistant Position

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Final-year students at Unisa pursuing one of the following qualifications:
    • National Diploma in Accounting Sciences
    • BCom in Internal Auditing
    • BCom in Business Informatics (Data Analysis)
    • Any other relevant Accounting/IT qualification
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in a related field is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages.

Investigation Assistant Position

  • Must hold one of the following qualifications:
    • National Diploma in Accounting Science
    • BCom in Internal Auditing
    • BCom in Business Informatics (Data Analysis)
    • LLB
    • BCom Law
    • National Diploma in Law
    • Qualification in Forensic Investigations or Police Science
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Internal Auditors/Senior Investigators with:
    • Planning audit/investigation projects
    • Execution of audit/investigation procedures
    • Reporting findings
  • Follow up on reported findings and evaluate the corrective action plan.
  • Provide general office administration assistance.
  • Undertake personal administrative tasks and development initiatives.

Salary

  • Remuneration is commensurate with the seniority of the position.
