The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is looking for an Administrative Officer to join their Training Norms and Standards team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong administrative background to play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the team while contributing to important projects within the organization. The position is based in Zwartkop/Centurion, and the salary package is market-related.

Job Purpose:

As the Administrative Officer: Training Norms and Standards Support, you will be responsible for keeping all administration up to date and providing essential administrative support to the Team Leader and the entire Training Norms and Standards unit. This is a dynamic role that requires proactive decision-making, strong organizational skills, and a focus on maintaining efficiency within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Managing Correspondence:
    • Handling and scrutinizing all incoming correspondence (mail and e-mail), ensuring prompt responses and appropriate routing of queries.
    • Proactively responding to requests, ensuring that all correspondence is addressed efficiently.
  2. Data and Report Management:
    • Gathering information, statistics, and compiling reports as per instructions from the General Manager.
    • Maintaining accurate records and supporting the team with data-driven decision-making.
  3. Administration and Coordination:
    • Managing and maintaining all administrative functions within the Training Norms and Standards Support Unit.
    • Coordinating and arranging staff meetings, functions, and ensuring all requirements are met.
    • Making travel arrangements for the unit, ensuring compliance with the set guidelines and requirements.
  4. Building Relationships:
    • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with service providers and stakeholders, ensuring mutual beneficial collaboration.
    • Staying up to date with market trends and incorporating relevant information into your work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric (NQF Level 4) is essential.
  • A minimum NQF Level 6 Diploma as recognized by SAQA.
  • 1–2 years of administrative experience in a similar role.

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of administrative processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with filing systems and organizational best practices.
  • Proficiency in foundational computer literacy concepts and relevant applications.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
