Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management or Tourism Development (NQF level 7)
- At least 10 years’ experience in a tourism managerial role, with 3 years at senior management level
- Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to Johannesburg Tourism Company.
- Oversee development of tourism products, amenities, infrastructure, and visitor experiences.
- Ensure transformation, training, and accessibility within the tourism sector.
- Drive investment promotion and integrated destination planning.
- Promote Johannesburg and South Africa as premier MICE destinations (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions).
- Improve business tourism performance and stimulate economic growth.
- Manage large project budgets, EPWP-related tourism interventions, and staff performance effectively.
