As a Human Capital Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in aligning HR strategies with DUT’s objectives, ensuring the effective delivery of HR services, and supporting senior executives in achieving the university’s goals. This position is essential for driving talent retention, employee development, and performance management across various business units.
Key Responsibilities of the Human Capital Business Partner
- Talent Management & Retention:
Facilitate the implementation of strategies for attracting, retaining, and developing top talent across the university. - Performance Management:
Coordinate and manage performance management processes, including training line management on conducting performance reviews and coaching staff. - Learning & Development:
Support the coordination of training programs and ensure the development of staff in line with performance development plans. - Employee Relations:
Proactively manage employee relations matters, addressing issues before they escalate into grievances and fostering a harmonious work environment. - Compliance & Legal:
Stay updated on HR legislation and regulations, ensuring DUT’s HR practices comply with the latest legal standards and best practices. - HR Analytics:
Provide insightful HR reports and analytics to inform decision-making at all levels, ensuring strategic HR initiatives align with DUT’s goals.
Minimum Requirements for the Role
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualification: NQF Level 9 qualification in Human Resources Management or Organisational/Industrial Psychology.
- Experience:
- 8 to 10 years’ experience in all HR functions, including HR strategy implementation.
- 5 to 8 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner in a medium to large organization.
- At least 3 years’ experience in HR analytics and reporting.
- Skills:
- Strong communication, persuasive, and listening skills at all levels of the organization.
- High level of customer service orientation, ensuring excellent HR service delivery.
- Competence in HR systems and MS Office.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and compliance with HR regulations.
