The Tshwane School for Business and Society (TSBS) at TUT is currently hiring a Part-Time Student Assistant to provide essential administrative support to the Director of the school. The role is based at the Pretoria Campus, located at 1204 Park Street, Ditsela Place, Hatfield, Pretoria, providing a central location for students who are already enrolled at the university. The campus offers an enriching environment to work in, and as a student assistant, you’ll have easy access to all the campus facilities, networking opportunities, and support services offered by TUT.
Position Summary
As a Part-Time Student Assistant at TSBS, you will be tasked with a variety of important duties aimed at supporting the TSB Director. Your responsibilities will include managing the Director’s schedule, coordinating meetings, assisting with preparing presentations and reports, handling office correspondence, and providing logistical support for events and travel arrangements. This position is designed to allow students to gain practical experience in office administration while balancing their academic commitments.
Critical Job Functions
- Administrative Support: Help ensure smooth daily operations in the Director’s office.
- Schedule Management: Coordinate the Director’s meetings, appointments, and calendar.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Communication: Serve as a communication link between executives, team members, and external parties.
- Report Preparation: Assist in drafting business documents, reports, and presentations.
- Logistical Support: Assist with organizing travel and events, as well as other office tasks like filing and documentation.
Requirements for the Position
To be considered for the role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Administrative Information Management or Business Administration is required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a Student or Administrative Assistant is highly beneficial.
- Solid knowledge of office management systems and procedures is expected.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Attention to detail and effective prioritization skills.
