Post Title: Deputy Director: Music Foundation (P5)

Purpose of the Position:
To implement the goals of the Unisa Music Foundation in alignment with the university’s mission, promoting access to music education and excellence in performance.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or MTech in Music Performance plus 8 years relevant experience
    OR
    Doctoral Degree in Music Performance plus 5 years relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s licence (Code EB) and passport

Recommendations:

  • International reputation as a performer
  • Sound knowledge of Classical, Jazz, and Indigenous African music
  • Leadership, innovation, adaptability, and strategic thinking

Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage community engagement, marketing, and fundraising
  • Proven experience in performance, event coordination, music examination, and orchestra management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and music notation software

Duties:

  • Lead the Unisa Music Foundation
  • Manage community music programmes, concerts, and ensembles
  • Represent UNISA in national and international competitions
  • Promote and market the foundation
  • Fundraising and stakeholder engagement
  • Deliver professional services and participate in community outreach
